Alta Vista Botanical Gardens Adopt-A-Garden
September 13, 2020 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am PDT
Are you experiencing climate grief and sorrow over what is happening to our environment? Isolation, anxiety, and sadness caused by the pandemic have amplified those feelings for many of us.
Studies have shown that being in nature, engaging in activities such as gardening, and being part of a group working on a common goal can be beneficial to our well being.
With that in mind the North County Climate Change Alliance (NCCCA) has decided to partner with the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens to Adopt-A-Garden and we invite you to participate! There is no financial cost to volunteers, all plants and supplies will be provided. You will be able to choose how much time you want to spend, and when you want to be there providing it’s during the park’s visiting hours. Appropriate precautions due to concerns about the pandemic will be observed.
If you are interested in becoming part of a volunteer NCCCA team dedicated to maintaining the POND GARDEN in one of the most treasured outdoor spaces in Vista, then please join us! We will meet for a brief training from an Alta Vista Botanical Gardens horticulturist to explain what is required of the volunteers and to answer questions. Let Nikki Leeds, who will be the NCCCA volunteer coordinator for this project, know if you plan on attending. Please visit this Adopt-A-Garden link for additional information. We hope to see you there.
